Position Statement of IAGG-ER to Stop the War in Ukraine and for Peace

As an international organization focused on science and research promoting the health and well-being of older people in Europe and all over the world, IAGG-ER expresses the strongest humanitarian appeal to immediately stop the war in Ukraine and for re-establishing peace.

We remain firmly committed to support all affected populations in Ukraine and other countries in the region, and in particular to support the older adults that are especially in danger to suffer from the war.

We ask the members of all gerontological and geriatric societies comprising IAGG-ER to support all people escaping from Ukraine, including refugees, students, women, children and especially old people.

As European scientists we call on President Putin to stop his war against Ukraine immediately.

Let's do everything we can to stop the humanitarian catastrophe and restore the peace!
